Stella's Fancy Birthday Party, Part 2

You can't have a Pourciau birthday party without the bouncer, right?  This thing has been a birthday party staple since 2011.  We were afraid it might rain us out for this party, but God gave us beautiful weather once again, so the kids had a blast bouncing around...

The teacher in me MUST have something educational on the party agenda, so I read a Fancy Nancy book to the guests who were willing to take a break and listen.  We read Poet Extraordinaire, which describes Nancy's poetry palace...Ethan was enthralled with my reading selection...
We also read a small excerpt from Ooh La La Beauty Day that gave the recipe for yogurt parfaits...
Stella was made for this stuff.  Check the drama in that wrist!  She doesn't totally take after Damon...
Following our reading circle, we went outside to make our own fancy yogurt parfaits...
We used GoGurt tubes, strawberries, kiwis, blueberries, bananas, (thanks to Grandma Tonie for preparing the fruit) and chocolate chips to build our parfaits in fancy plastic wine glasses from the party store.  Guess which ingredient we ran out of first?  Not any of the fruit ones!

This got a bit chaotic, but the sweet moms jumped right in and helped, and the girls really enjoyed it...

If you do this, don't forget the scissors to quickly open those stubborn yogurt tubes...

Some of you may have heard me say when we moved to Baton Rouge that I wasn't going to make any friends because I already have too many friends to adequately keep up with.  Well, in spite of myself, God has blessed me with a fantastic group of ladies that are so sweet and fun to be around that you can't help being friends with them.  My neighbors and the kindergarten moms at PBS are wonderful!  I love them all for being willing to sweat on my back patio so that Stella could have a great birthday party...even if they don't love having their picture taken...
The two besties-since-birth enjoying their parfaits...
Poor Brandon had no idea what he was in for when he accepted our invitation...
The poor kid was mobbed by little girls...
Good thing he's tough because he spent a lot of the party under attack...

Watts...he was in rare form for the party.  I don't think he got all his nap out before the festivities started, so he was a little clingy, and for the most part gave the guests this face...
Can you guess which mom was fast enough to jump out of the frame before I took the picture?  Hint: it's the one who kicked my butt in a half marathon recently...
One more birthday party post and then we're done!  I promise!
