Thanksgiving in Dallas

We decided to try out a little holiday travel this year for Thanksgiving, and the open road was calling our name.  Our first stop was Pineville for a play break with one of our favorite families, the Sharbonos...
There is someone for everyone when you get our two families together...
These two share a bond very few boys can...
...it's one forged from being beleaguered by 6 of these things...
The Sharciau/Pourbono Clans have been very productive...
Once we made it to Texas we had to get some barbecue for lunch...

And enjoy some dinner theater at what Stella referred to as "Many Evil Times" on her last trip to Dallas...
Our cousins joined us...
Stella was chosen Queen of the Tournament and our knight even took a photo with us...what a great guy! (Side note: Corinne wore the exact same princess dress to Medieval Times that Cille wore on our last visit.)
From imaginary heroes to real ones...our next stop was the George W. Bush Presidential Library, where we took a photo in the Oval Office West...
Cille took a few calls for W while we were there...
The big girls, Damon, and I hit the ropes the next morning...
Trinity Forest Adventure Park was so much fun...
That afternoon we rejoined the rest of our group for a trip to the Perot Museum...
The trip got a little interesting at this point, because starting during the zip lining I ran a pretty raging fever.  I struggled through our time at Perot and Damon took me straight to Urgent Care when they closed.  Turns out I had pneumonia so I got benched for the next day's adventures, which included a guided tour at the Dallas Heritage Village...

It was a little difficult to book this tour, but totally worth it, because the kids had a great time learning what life was like for the early residents of Dallas in a hands-on way...
They also got to take in the inaugural Dallas Zoo Lights...

...where s'mores were on the menu!  I was so glad, because Watts had specifically asked to do s'mores at Great Wolf Lodge, because he remembered doing this in Canada when he was 3...that kid has a long term memory like his Great-Grandpa Crane, who I am pretty sure remembers coming through the birth canal...
And guess what big boy lost a tooth at the hotel?  It reminded me of when Cille shed a tooth in Colonial Williamsburg...
We checked into Great Wolf Lodge on Thanksgiving Day and our cousins joined us for some turkey and dressing...
And a little light iPad watching...
Great Wolf Lodge was so much fun!  It turned out to be the perfect use case for the Apple Watch with Cellular, which led to there being no photos from the water park itself.  We also learned from past mistakes and stayed only 2 nights, giving us time to slide and MagiQuest to our hearts content, but to leave before the parents were totally over it.  We also learned to bring our old wands along so that we could pick up where we left off playing MagiQuest...
On our way out of the big city we stopped for lunch with our cousins...
And then in the truck on the way home we just crashed...

Dallas can really wear a kid out...
Luckily they were able to catch a second wind in time to enjoy a visit with Grandpa Crane on our way home...
We are so thankful for fun family times like these!

Corinne's BirthDAY

Belle may have gone back to her castle, but the party was far from over for our birthday princess.  Guess who got to have her birthday breakfast in Mommy and Daddy's bed?  She also got to open a present...a perfect pasta play set so our favorite junior chef can whip up her own "Famous Spaghetti"...
At school she got a birthday crown and sticker...
Her bear was overjoyed...
And her mom got nostalgic about the last time we had a little girl turning three at daycare...
Corinne enjoyed cupcakes with her class and a visit from Mawmaw and Pawpaw that night to round out her birthDAY festivities.  Happy Birthday, Coco!  We love you, big girl!

Corinne's "Little Town" Party, Part 1

About 5 minutes after her two year old birthday party was over, Corinne started planning her 3rd.  From the very beginning she asked for a "Little Town" party.  For those of you who haven't watched Beauty and the Beast 8,987,643 times, "Little Town" is the first part of Belle's first song in the movie, and was the title that Corinne called the movie by for months and months before some evil older sibling taught her the actual name of the movie.  It was absolutely precious.  So when she requested a party theme, she naturally asked for a "Little Town" party.  Who could refuse that request?  Especially when we already have a castle bouncer that fit so nicely with the theme...
Lily is more of an Elsa fan herself...
Corinne was pumped to have her school friends at the party...they were pumped to explore her toy collection...
And you will never guess who traveled all the way from her castle in France for the party...Belle herself!
Corinne was so surprised...

And a little bit overwhelmed at first...

Corinne took Belle on the grand tour, stopping by the cottage where she lived as a peasant and showing off her bounce skills in her "castle"...
Belle loves books and brought a story to share...

As Belle read the story, Corinne would periodically run away to gather props from the story to show Belle...
For example, she had the enchanted rose...

...and the magic mirror...
When Belle says close your eyes...
...you close your eyes!

Check out the footstool mutt making his grand entrance to show off his costume to Belle...

There's nothing worse than being upstaged by your brother when you are entertaining royalty, but Corinne took it in stride...

Corinne had the BEST time playing with Belle.  It was truly magical for her...

More "Little Town" fun to come!
