Stella's Poppins Party

The Saturday after Stella's birthday we invited some of our friends to join us for a Mary Poppins-themed party at the carousel in City Park.  To get in the proper frame of mind for our jolly holiday, we brought along a few essentials: Mary's umbrella and carpet bag, some spoonfuls of sugar, and also Cod Liver Oil for children who got their feet wet...
For party favors we had kites and food for the birds...
Tripp joined us for the party and his shirt said it all...
We set up a station for chalk drawings with Bert.  Stella and the Guillory girls had a great time creating...
Skyler was more interested in the balloons...
Who says Mary Poppins is only for girls?  These big brothers look like they're having plenty of fun...
Emma, Talia, and Lauren consorted with racehorse-persons...
Avery Kate just took it all in...
Here are Stella's practically perfect cupcakes that Mrs. Marylou made her.  Aren't they precious?
Tristyn was ready to saddle up...
I think Lilly was ready to try a yummy cupcake...
How cute are these with the spoonfuls of sugar?  That Marylou is one talented gal!
The piece-de-resistance...Mary Poppins's Hat Cake-complete with penguin waiters!
 The whole set-up...
Tripp and his mommy enjoyed his first carousel ride...
Insert your own inappropriate joke regarding Tripp's heritage here...
 Time to sing "Happy Birthday!"
The cake got two thumbs up!
Molly loved it so much she couldn't even be bothered to pose for pictures...
I am not sure that John understands the concept of a measuring tape (look at the extra hanging on the floor!), but Talia still measured up practically perfect in every way and likely to remain so...
 What a beautiful family!
Missy made Stella this precious birthday banner.  To throw a great party you don't have to have any actual talent...you just have to have lots of REALLY talented friends!
 Cheese!

 Little Johnny riding his horsey...

I think this may have been the first time that Stella actually opened all her presents at the party...
 Check out those baby blues!

After the party was over, we played in Storyland and Cille had a blast visiting the Three Little Pigs' houses...
Stella and Daddy played Rapunzel and Flynn Rider in King Cole's castle...
...and took a ride in the fire truck!
We had a great day! Thanks to everyone who helped make Stella's birthday so special!  We love you all!

Stella's BirthDAY

Stella turned 4 years old on March 26, 2012.  Since her special day fell on a Monday, she started the day off with our traditional special breakfast in bed and cupcakes at school.  Cheerleader parties were all the rage this year, so she chose a cheerleader cupcake cake to share with her friends, and she and Cille dressed the part.  Here she is at school celebrating with her classmates...
 Make a wish!
We postponed her annual bash until the next weekend and had a quiet celebration at home that afternoon with Mawmaw and Pawpaw.  They picked her up from school and took her for her first mani-pedi.  She absolutely loved it!  (Unfortunately, I forgot to send the camera so there is only this one blurry pic from Damon's phone!)
After she arrived home, it was time to open some presents.  Wait a minute...if the surroundings don't look normal to you, that's because I left out a major change that happened for our family in February.  After lots of prayer we decided that it was time for our family to leave LaPlace and move to Baton Rouge.  We spent February repainting and recarpeting our house, then we moved out of it and put it on the market.  From February to May we were in a rent house on Golfview Drive, a mile or so from our old house.  The girls adjusted really well to the change, and these pictures will give you a glimpse of our time in the rent house...
Stella opened up Play-Doh while Daddy assembled her scooter in the background...
She also got a Cinderella bride dress from Mommy and Daddy, to help her get ready for her gig as Uncle Chad and Aunt Alaina's flower girl...
She danced the night away with Pawpaw...

DIP!!!!
Then it was Daddy's turn...
Finally it was time to put on some jammies and eat some SUGAR!!!
You can never make too many wishes, right?
Cille thoroughly enjoyed the cake...
And so did the birthday girl!

More birthday fun to come!
