In the Backyard with Corinne

We have four children.  Normal people look at us like side show freaks when we take them in public, and given the amount of drama and general hilarity that usually follows us around, I do not fault them for this.  Often times when you meet a 4th child who has survived to adulthood, they will testify about the sad plight of the 4th kid.  Most of their stories revolve around being allowed to wallow in filth that the first three children would never have been allowed to touch, only having access to the cast-off toys and clothing of the older three children, and finally, my personal favorite, not having any photographs of themselves as a baby/child.  With four little people in our house to take care of we may fail in lots of categories, but by golly, I have a digital camera and an empty memory card, so I am going to make sure that Corinne sticks to the first two categories of complaints and has some baby photos of her own to enjoy.

With that goal in mind, she and I set out for the backyard one summer afternoon when she was looking particularly lovely, and had an impromptu photo shoot for my pretty baby...

She has so much personality in that tiny little package!  Yes, lots of these photos are similar.  To fully appreciate them you might have to blow them up one by one and search out the small differences.  You are welcome for that suggestion that I am sure will lead you to hours of enjoyment...

Profile...

Like most parents, I find my offspring very aesthetically pleasing...

So hard to choose a favorite shot...so I posted them all.  You're welcome, grandparents...

I love you, sweet Wren! I hope we can take pictures together again soon.  Also, just so that you one day have plenty to complain about, this dress is a hand-me-down and I am pretty positive you ate some grass during the taking of these photos.

Cille Lost Her First Tooth

The tooth fairy has a new customer in the Pourciau house...
That's right!  Cille joined the tooth loss club tonight.  Unlike her big sister, who required a trip to the dentist and lots of wiggling to lose her first tooth, Cille's just popped right out without any fanfare.  She was very excited about it, though...
This spunky little gal is a blessing to our family, no matter how many teeth she has!

Watts's 3 Year Old Pictures

When Watts turned one I had the brilliant idea of taking the kids to the portrait studio on their actual birthday and doing pictures so we could capture them at least once a year...make that 4 times a year if we actually do this on all the birthdays.  Don't ask me what took me so long to come up with this idea.  I did miss years of the older girls' birthdays without realizing this might be cool, but oh well.  Anywho, Watts's birthday was a little too hectic this year to allow for a trip to the mall for photos, so we scheduled his session a couple of weeks after his actual birthday (gasp!).  It proved just as difficult to get a three-and-a-couple-of-week-old to look at the camera and smile as it had been to get a 2 year old to look at the camera and smile, and so, these three photos are what we ended up with...
Not Corinne's best effort, but if you had been there, you would consider that first photo a real triumph, I can assure you...

School Pictures

The older girls already took their yearbook photos for this school year, and here they are:
This was Cille's first school photo as a full-fledged Eagle, but if you would like to take a look at Stella's past school photos, click here.
