Happy Birthday, Talia!

Last Friday night the girls and I got to attend another 2 year old birthday party for one of our favorite friends, Talia Rose Guillory. Talia knows how to have a good time, so she decided to have her party at Chuck E. Cheese's, where Mr. John can be a kid. Just look at how much fun he's having...
Emma should head to Vegas.  She helped Stella hit the ticket jackpot with a lucky quarter roll...
Stella has always been less than enthusiastic about carousels, but we finally found one that she was excited about...
How many Guillory girls can you fit into a monster truck?
Stella wanted to take another turn on the carousel with the birthday girl...
This is what Stella did in the roller coaster simulator when John and I told her to "put her hands up"...
She even tried to help out some of the other Chuck E. Cheese patrons.  Seriously, she did not know this child and just randomly decided to catch her...
She had some deep conversations with Chuck on one of the oldest phones she'd ever seen...
Kelly was in Vegas on a girls' trip, so you know what they say, "When the cat's away..."  Apparently, John "plays" by seeing how many of his daughters he can launch into the air on a helicopter at the same time.  In his defense, the seatbelt did fit around both of them...
There was some disagreement about where they should drive the Cliff-mobile...
Stella pretended to be Giselle and attempted to call the vermin of Chuck E. Cheese over to clean up.  Guess she didn't like the mess the rest of the kids were making...
Stella's absolute favorite game was this one, in which you take a hammer and squash bugs.  Wonder what that says about her personality?
When we visited the potty in preparation for our journey home, Stella told me she wanted to ride more rides.  When I told her I was out of tokens and we would have to go home, she said, "I bet Mr. John will give me more tokens.  How 'bout that?"  Guess she has Mr. John all figured out...
Thanks, Guillorys, for another fun time together. We can't wait to celebrate Sadie's birthday!

Stella's 1st School Picture

WeeCare recently had school picture day...
Thanks to the friendly folks at Romaguera Photography for capturing our sweet little schoolgirl. They even let you buy the picture digitally, so you don't have to wait for your toddler to bring home a rumpled portrait package in her backpack. What a great idea!

Got my toes!

Cille recently made an exciting discovery...she has toes!
Who needs toys when God gave you 10 pretty little piggies to play with?

The Andouille Festival

All that Pumpkin Patch fun just wasn't enough to fill up our weekend, so on Sunday afternoon we headed out to the annual Andouille Festival here in LaPlace. Those of you who are not fortunate enough to live in St. John the Baptist Parish may not realize that LaPlace is actually the "Andouille Capital of the World." Be impressed.  Here are Stella and Daddy exiting her first carnival ride.  While on this ride, Stella said, "Daddy, we're in this alligator's belly!"
Next it was on to the teacups with Mommy.  Stella told me that this ride was, "just like Disneyworld!"  Jamie said she was sure the festival organizers would be happy to hear that comparison.  It made me think that our little family might be ready for a trip to Florida.  Hint, hint, Daddy...
One of Stella's favorite things to do is "drive," so she was thrilled with this ride...
Halfway through the ride she noticed that her passenger had a steering wheel, too.  I think Stella shot her this look to say, "What do you think you're doing?  You do realize I'm driving this car, don't you?"
Excited about riding the carousel...well, at least one of them was...
Cille loved the Andouille Festival...
She wins the good attitude award for waiting patiently while her sister had fun and not complaining that the only thing she got to ride was her stroller...

Next it was time for a high seas adventure, Viking style...
Daddy made sure there was film footage of Stella's maiden voyage...
Her instructions were to not put her hand in the water...
But the waves just proved irresistable...
Who knew sausage could be so fun?  Thanks, Andouille!  You are our favorite meat to celebrate!

The Pumpkin Patch, Part 3

This is the last Pumpkin Patch post this year, I promise! By the time Molly arrived, Stella was trying out Pawpaw's sunglasses...
She also took another trip to the petting zoo to see Baby Bird again...
She placed a few bets on the rubber duckie races...just kidding...she's Baptist and everybody knows we don't gamble...
Man, if we lived in the pioneer days she would be a great helper...
Go, ducks, go!
Last year Stella got peeved when a little boy invaded her pumpkin carriage.  This year she shared with two Prince Charmings...
How much did Stella grow in the past year?
This much!

Stella had fun playing some games...
Daddy gave her a little help with the tractor...
Red just wasn't her color...
Here they are wondering, "What's for dinner?"
She got to pick some cotton, which thankfully did not include any of the pointless exercises I was subjected to in high school P.E...
She took a hike on the nature trail.  I think Daddy enjoyed this more than Stella did...
She pretended to be Susan/Ginormika on the haybales.  In Monsters vs. Aliens, Susan starts off as a normal girl...
But grows into a GIANT!
One trip to the zip lines was just not enough...
Mommy even tried it out after most of the kids were gone, but I won't post those pictures...
Back at the blob, Stella and her friend Mattie Ann discovered that it's super fun to run back and forth between daddies...

Mattie Ann thought we should revisit the zip lines...
Stella agreed...
Family photo attempt, made more difficult by the fact that we were facing straight into the setting sun...
And did I mention sitting in the dirt?
Squint and say, "Cheese!"
Stella and Molly, BFF's...
Finally, a keeper...
So long until next year, Pumpkin Patch!
