Christmas Parade

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we spent the morning at a birthday party for one of Stella's classmates and then traveled to New Roads with the cousins for a Christmas parade.  This will be sweet Claire's first Christmas and she was ready to enjoy all the sights and sounds of the season...

I love this picture of my girls.  Every once in a while they stop fussing long enough to be sweet to one another...

I also love this series of pictures of Cille with Mawmaw.  As a grandma's girl myself, I love how these pictures capture the special relationship that they share...

In a small town, it helps to have friends in high places.  In spite of the fact that we were pretty late as usual, when Lacie rolled down her window and flashed her credentials they literally moved the barricade so we could get to our primo parking spots and waltz up to the perfect viewing spot a couple of minutes before the parade rolled...
Another one of Mawmaw's girls...

Watts has reached the time of life in which he is no longer always a willing participant in family photos...

The kids were like throw magnets.  They got more beads and stuffed animals than you could shake a stick at...

Claire was a little skeptical...

Watts is so happy to have Claire.  The twins and Tripp all had the audacity to be born a year before him, but now that Claire's here he has someone his own size to play with...
He loves her...

The girls and their loot...
This sweet man stood beside us during the parade and helped the girls get the best throws.  Apparently, he knows everyone who rides in the parade and was able to talk them all into throwing their goodies our way.  Hopefully we can find him again next year!
The mommies and the babies post parade...
Let's try that again...
This little girl is a ham!

Love her!

Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving we gathered at Sheila's house to spend some time with our family and enjoy some yummy food.  Tucker was ready to eat some turkey...
We had gumbo, turkey, ham, potato salad, roast gravy, and an assortment of desserts, including two chocolate pies...
Our kids had tons of fun playing with Reid and Tucker's toys.  You know it's always more fun to play with other people's toys than it is your own...
I guess Watts ate too much?
Balloons!
The boys settled down to watch a little football after dinner...

It was too chilly to play outside but the kids had way too much energy to be cooped up indoors...
Watts was even willing to mow the lawn if we'd let him go out...

Tucker even volunteered to mow the lawn with Reid...
How sweet!  These boys love each other!
How Tucker likes to play with his barbecue pit...

Selfie alert!
More little cousin loving...
Watts was confused by all this hubbub...
At a time of the year when we count our blessings, we are most thankful for our loving family and the times that we share together.  Thanks, Aunt Sheila, for giving us a warm home in which to reflect on how truly bountiful our blessings are.
