(Almost) A One Year Old Boy

Near the end of July our thoughts turned to the fact that it was time to host another birthday party at our house, this time for Wattsy-boy!  inspiration for his theme was slow in coming (more on that later) so we decided that we would just do a birthday-themed photo shoot in our backyard and use that for his invitation.  The girls helped Daddy set up the shot...
Then we put in the talent...
I cannot believe this sweet boy is almost one!  Where did the year go?
Watts was not a super-big fan of the icing...

I love the sunburst in this one...if he was actually looking at the camera this might have been THE ONE...

After I shoved his hand in the cake trying to encourage him to get a little messier, he cried, so we had to give him a hit of his noonie to calm him down...
He loved the actual cake and ate a lot of it...
He never got sufficiently into the cake to showcase this, but the cake was rainbow colored inside...

Eventually Watts decided that it was time for this photo shoot to be over...

Yep, he's done...
We could have made his invitation theme "It's My Party and I'll Cry If I Want To" but we went with a collage instead...

Biloxi Beach Day

For the 4th of July Mawmaw Shirley, Aunt Ruby, Sheila, and Pam did a girls' getaway weekend in Biloxi to celebrate Aunt Ruby's birthday.  It's hard to getaway from us, though, because we followed them there for a beach day and a visit...

The sand was not really Florida quality, if you catch my drift, but the kids loved it anyway...

Cille is not as patient as Stella...

Mawmaw went along with us, and thank goodness she did.  Turns out 3 kids on a beach is a lot to keep up with...

Stella was wondering where the waves were...

Practicing her open water swimming...
Cille is not always on board with having her picture taken...

Duck feet...

Teamwork...

This...bucket...is...heavy....
Buckets: good for sitting or soaking...

Nice hat, Dad...

Eventually we tried to clean them off a little...
