PBS Spring Festival Talent Show

Stella's school recently hosted their Spring Festival, which was a great family friendly event to raise money for the school.  We all had a blast riding rides, playing games, and eating junk food.  As part of the event, the school hosted a talent show and invited students to show off their star power.  When Stella and her friend Elizabeth told me that they wanted to participate, I was not on board with the idea.  As a kindergartener, I would not have had the courage to get up in front of my school and sing, so I just figured my child would be the same way.  Boy, was I wrong.  The girls not only came up with their own song and dance routine, but Stella decided to play her guitar as part of it!  Tiffany and Elizabeth found some super cute matching outfits for the girls to wear in the show (having organized friends SOOO pays off!) and here are the little performers ready to hit the stage...

It was hard to take pictures during the performance but we did our best...
I love taking pictures of my friends taking pictures or video of our kids.  I hope our children always know that we are their biggest fans!

Happy Easter! Part 4

Now that most of our eggs were cracked, we might as well spread them around the yard, huh?  Time for an egg hunt!

Watts held his own with the big girls...

When it was over they counted up their loot...

Then they decided that the grown-ups needed to hunt eggs, too...
Watts did more supervising than egg hiding...

Does it look like the adults got a little bit competitive?

Finally it was time to pick out the few (and I mean FEW) un-cracked eggs and "tock" or fight them...("Tock" is probably a Cajun French word that no one knows how to spell.)

Eventually Cille was content to just smash two eggs against each other by herself...
Watts wanted to take one final drive off into the sunset...
Just wait until he can reach the pedals...then we'll really be in trouble!
We had a wonderful time celebrating Easter as a family! Thank you, Jesus, for making Easter possible!  If you would like to look back at previous Pourciau Easters, click here, here, here and here.

Happy Easter! Part 3

We started the egg olympics with a good old egg on a spoon race.  In our family, if you can walk, you can race...
Several eggs were dropped on the starting line...

Pawpaw is not one to let little kids beat him, even if they are his grandkids...

After the first event there was no clear leader...I think all of the eggs in the race ended up cracked, but we did not let that deter us from going on to a new game: pass the egg from your spoon to someone else's...

Then we upped the degree of difficulty by adding that you had to stand on one foot while you passed the egg...
That got old quick, especially since Cille, by her own admission, is not very good at standing on one foot.  Time for the egg toss...
See the egg in the air?
 Interception by Mawmaw...

 Egg roll, anyone?
After expending all that effort, we took a break inside.  Mawmaw Shirley had stopped by with Easter surprises for the kids, and Cille loved hers...

 Egg hunting is up next!
