Stella's Double Birthday Sleepover Party

When you are turning double digits, you need to have double the party, right? To celebrate the big 1-0 with Stella, we hosted two birthday sleepovers on back-to-back weekends.  The first activity on the agenda was painting pillowcases, because we all know that tween girls love a good craft/mess...
I love that these sweet friends thanked the Lord for their tacos without being reminded...
They baked the birthday cake on their own and decorated it themselves as well, as you can see...

Chocolate overload!
For our after dinner outing we saw our friend Carlie and lots of other high schoolers in Grease...
Back at home the girls donned matching jammies and binge-watched Live PD.  Seriously.  Apparently their teacher told them about this show and they were enthralled.  I was not a fan...
They needed more sugar so we made some late-night s'mores...

Next weekend we did it all again!  Well, some of it.  We started with pillowcases again...
And then apparently I quit taking photos.  Damon took the girls out for hibachi, and they fell asleep to The Greatest Showman.  The next morning we hiked for donuts, and captured LOTS of slugs on the way home...

Both groups of girls spent their Saturday mornings riding go-karts and climbing the rock wall at Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house. Happy 10th birthday, Stella!  We can't believe that you've been with us for a decade.  In some ways it feels like you have always been here, and in others it feels like you were born yesterday.  Continue to surround yourself with friends who love the Lord and seek His will.  We love you!

Our Little Baller

Watts played basketball for the first time this year through the Istrouma Sports Organization.  He and his friend Gavin were on the same team, and their head coach was legit.  Basketball is one of the few sports that Damon and I both participated in during the high school days, so it kind of cracked me up that Watts' coach as a 5 year old was more qualified than any coach either one of us ever had.  Seriously, google Darrel Owens and prepare to be amazed.  I love how Watts has his last name on his shirt.  So cute...
Basketball buddies...
So happy for his team photo...
The head coach missed picture day, but these were his two assistant coaches who were so wonderful with the kids and taught them so much.  They had the patience of saints, I tell you.
What a great introduction to basketball our little buddy had!  He had a great season full of lots of hustle.  Go Watts!

Daddy-Daughter Sweetheart Dance

The Baton Rouge General Father-Daughter Sweetheart Dance has been a Baton Rouge tradition for 25 years now, and a Pourciau tradition for the past 4.  Lucky for me, the table decorating contest and the Hobby Lobby Easter decor sale coincided, so our table was all gussied up and ready for a hopping good time...
I also recycled all these items to decorate for class Easter parties, so score again...
Corinne was able to attend the dance for the first time this year and she was a little bit excited about it, as you can see...

Everyone had a great time, even though it wore some of them out completely...
Turns out our crew was perfectly coordinated with the backdrop for the professional photos...

These little sweethearts can't wait for next year!
