Cheer Camp

Cille had a great time hanging with her big friends and learning cheers at PBS Cheer Camp...
This sweet friend went on to be crowned Homecoming Queen!  She is the real deal, beautiful inside and out!  What a wonderful example for our girls!  I am so thankful for a school that fosters intergenerational friendships...

Cille's 9th Birthday

Cille celebrated her birthday with her closest girlfriends.  We started with a trip to the nail salon...

We took a dip in the pool...

These photos are all out of order.  We woke Cille up on her birthday with our traditional birthday breakfast in bed...

Back to party day...we saw a movie...

Back to breakfast...this is how many Pourciaus you can fit into a full sized bed...

The girls wanted Starbucks after the nail salon...
After swimming, we had to eat at the only restaurant still open, which was Walk-Ons, and then we had a sleepover.  We had a great time celebrating this sweet 9 year old girl!

Pirates! The Musical

Musical summer camp at Manship Theatre is always one of the highlights of our summer.   This year, Cille was cast as the "Queen of the High C's" in Pirates! The Musical.  She had such a great time at camp with her sweet director Bailey Wax...
This silly little girl brought flowers for her favorite actress...
Sweet Emma was there to support her friend onstage...
Cille had quite the cheering section in the audience.  Thanks to all of our friends and family who love our children so well!  And great job, Cille!

Moving

I mentioned before that we are moving, but I think I forgot to add that we are moving offices as well.  Because what could possibly make a summer move any more special than making it a double move?  At least we have lots of child labor to depend on...
No matter how old you are, Damon will put you to work...
At least we have cute help.

Junior Stepper Camp

Stella made the Junior Stepper dance team at school and started summer off learning dances at their camp...
The team is made up of 5th-8th graders, so she has friends on the team older and younger than her...
Can't wait to watch these sweet girls rock the football field this fall!

Dance Recital

We survived the girls' first year as company dancers and made it all the way to recital!  It was almost as much an accomplishment for the momtourage as it was for the dancers...
We will miss these cute little "Toy Soldiers"...
Caroline is our number one fan!  Best friend ever...
Dance friendships are so sweet...
None of us will miss the 8,000 bobby pins used to attach the pillbox hats to the children!  These bobby pins have been the source of much fussing from children and parents alike, and these smiles say it all.  We're putting them in for THE LAST TIME!   Whoohoo!

The girls had a great year on company and learned and grew so much as young ladies and as dancers.  We love our dance family at Tari's School of Dance.

Swim Team

Stella joined the Country Club of Louisiana Swim Team 7 years ago, and since then it has been one of our favorite summer activities!  We've made such sweet friends at the pool...
When Stella joined, you had to wait until you were 5, but the rule changed soon afterward, so Cille, Watts, and Corinne got to join as 4 year olds.  That makes this Watts' 3rd year on swim team...
A silly  shot of our whole team...
And a serious one.  We recruited some friends from school to help us have more male swimmers...
Race ready!
Cille has the best swim team birthday of any of our children...right after the qualifying cutoff, so every other year she gets to be one of the oldest kids in her age group...
Okay, so Corinne rocked the look and went to practice, but never actually swam in a race the entire season.  That's the privilege of being the baby of the family.  She needs a Caroline in her life...

Ms. Laurie gives the BEST pep talks...
Stella's sweet relay team...
Oops...we were missing one...

Stella, supporting her brother at city meet...
Our favorite swim team coach!
Cuties!

This swim season was bittersweet, because we knew it would be our last with our friends at CCL.  As I mentioned in an earlier post, we bought a house in another neighborhood that has a team of its own, so in the future we'll swim for them.  We are so thankful for the season of life God gave us with such kind and caring friends on this team.  The coaches helped the kids grow as swimmers, but also gave them positive role models.  No matter what it says on our swim caps next year, inside we will still be Dolphins!
