2010 Year in Review

It's time once again to take a look back and remember some of the fun things we did in 2010. We started in January with a big bite of king cake and some sugary little lips...
In February we were bead magnets at the local Mardi Gras parades...
In March we celebrated Stella's birthday...
And received the best birthday present ever compliments of the Raneys: a new friend!
See how excited we were?
In April we hunted for Easter eggs...
In May we boiled up some spicy crawfish...
And kicked off our summer with some backyard pool fun...
In June God gave us a new light in our lives, little Cille...
In July Stella hung out at the pool...
And Cille played dress-up at home with Mommy...

In August we enjoyed lazy days around the house...
And wiggled our hips to salsa tunes at SEAlebration...
In September we went to the beach within reach with the Guillorys...
In October we took our pumpkins to a patch...
And went trick-or-treating with the princess, the pea, and their entourage...
In November we met the governor.  Stella's face pretty much says it all...
In December we celebrated Jesus's birthday with a month-long party...
The end of the year is a good time to look back and reflect on your journey. 2010 was a year of extremes for our family. We experienced the blissful birth of a healthy baby girl, but we also tasted the sadness of loss. I am reminded of Bob Cratchit's line in A Christmas Carol, "Life is made of meetings and partings...that is the way of it."  While we know in our minds that this is just part of life, our hearts still ache for loved ones no longer with us.  How wonderful that Christ offers us healing through Him!  How marvelous that our Savior promises to heal us not from petty physical maladies, but from the sinful human condition.  What a great gift is the redemption that will allow us to fellowship with Him for eternity, and rescue us from the heartache of separation that we feel for our loved ones who are already kneeling at His throne.  Thank you, God, for the time you have blessed us with together here on earth, and for the promise of an eternity with You and the rest of our loved ones in Your heavenly kingdom!

Christmas Night, Part 2

It's just what he always wanted!
I love the fact that in the background of this picture of Stella opening Christmas gifts is another picture of Stella opening Christmas gifts on her first Christmas...
Wow!  A beautiful necklace!
What a cute couple!  Chad, can we keep her? Hint, hint...
Stella's first time on roller skates...
Whoa!
This is so fun! It kind of makes me want some skates...
This toy was meant for Cille, but Stella likes it, too...
The kids had a great time playing with Play-Doh...
Chad had some very helpful tips...
Cille finally got to play with her toy...
And I think she really liked it...

Christmas Night, Part 1

During the afternoon we moved the party to Erwinville in order to spend some time with the rest of the family. Stella fixed up for the party using her new beauty kit from Mawmaw Shirley...
Cille had fun opening her stocking from Mawmaw...
What do you think about this lipstick shade?
She likes it!
The rattle was fun, too, but spending time with Aunt Lacie was what really made Cille light up...
Boys and their iPhones...
Alaina took time to read the classics to Stella...
That cheesy grin was brought to you by all the sugary icing on Jesus's birthday cake...
Who needs gifts?  This was the most exciting bottle of water EVER!
Thank goodness she got a vacuum cleaner.  Now she can clean my house...
Alaina helped Cille check out her new wardrobe...
While Pawpaw helped Stella open gifts...

Christmas Morning, Part 4

Stella was surprised by her own gift to Mawmaw and Pawpaw...
She loved her new dress from Troyce and Emily...
And had to put it on immediately...
Yay! An iPhone!  "Feel the electric in the air!" (What movie is that from? Comment if you know the answer.)
Stella found sunglasses and chocolate in her stocking...
She loves chocolate...
Cille got some shades, too...
She likes to use them to hold her hair back...
