Buzzy the Bee

Stella has been patiently waiting all year to host her class pet, and her turn finally came over the MLK holiday weekend.  She was so excited to bring home Buzzy the Bee...
Our weekend plans were already chocked full of activities, so we had no problem helping Buzzy remain a very busy bee.  Friday night he accompanied Stella to the basketball game to dance with the Silver Steppers.  Here is Buzzy posing with Stella and one of her big friends...

On Saturday Buzzy accompanied the three big kids, Daddy, Mawmaw, and Pawpaw to the Marvel Universe Live show in the New Orleans Arena...
After that they stopped by Daddy's office for some breathtaking views of the river...
They tried out a new restaurant...
And they finished their day with some shopping at the Little Winn Dixie inside the Children's Museum...
Sunday morning they went to church and then had lunch with Elsa and Anna from Frozen...
We had a great time hosting Buzzy.  Fly back soon, little bee!

And be sure to check Stella's class blog where she will soon be featured as Bee of the Week!

Corinne's Newborn Pictures

During our family photo shoot Corinne also had her turn in the spotlight for her newborn photos.  She started off sporting an outfit that actually belonged to her dad when he was a baby.  For the record, Damon never actually wore this outfit.  We are so old that we were born back in the days before ultrasounds and gender determination, (hard to believe, I know.  We look so young!  haha) so at her baby shower someone gave this sweet little number to my mother in law.  She saved it all these years and knew right where it was.  This makes me ashamed because I can't even put my hands on some of Corinne's current outfits when I want to, much less find something that I was given for a child almost 35 years ago and never actually used...
Corinne looks like a sweet little Eskimo baby, doesn't she?  My snow bunny...
Next it was time for the only topless photos I will ever sanction of this child...

Corinne stubbornly refused to sleep during her portrait session...

Also, her cord stump is still attached because it took about a month and a half to fall off.  I guess that is my comeuppance for all those "cut the cord" jokes I made about Damon.  None of my kids want to give up their nubbins...

Many of these are super similar, but honestly, how do you choose?  She is just so sweet...

Her baby Moses impression...

We actually ended up taking a few more photos when we went back to order the pictures.  This time Corinne was in a milk coma and cooperated...

She looks so roly poly but I promise she is tiny...

I love those chubby cheeks...

Sleeping in heavenly peace...
Thanks, Erin, for your patience!  We will treasure these photos of our sweet baby girl forever.

Family Photos

Now that Corinne is here, it was time to refresh our family portrait.  The last time we took a formal family portrait was when Watts was a baby...

Damon loves this picture of Watts sticking his tongue out at his new sister...
We used this shot for our Christmas card...

Corinne under attack from her siblings...
Once again thanks to Erin Guedry for taking so much time to capture the perfect images for our family.

Corinne's Maternity Pictures

Back in October, we had a family photo shoot to take maternity pictures for Corinne...
We have taken maternity pictures for each pregnancy.  Click here for Stella's, Cille's, and Watts's...
Watts was a little clingy on this day, so he is actually covering Corinne in most of her maternity pictures...
Like here...can you even see my belly?  Nope; it's hiding behind that giant 2 year old...
It was also a challenge to get Watts to smile, so we got to the point where any hint of a smile seemed like a good effort...

These photos recreated this shot on the beach that is still one of my favorites...

This might be my favorite photo of the day...I like Watts's pouty face...

I love this one, too...

There's the belly...
Girls only...
Girls and our favorite brother...

The men of the family...
Thanks to Erin for capturing this special time of life for our family!
