Home for Christmas, Part 1

We spent Christmas morning on vacation a few years ago, and the kids were NOT fans, so now we try to make sure we wake up at home every Christmas morning.  Unfortunately, this usually means staying up most of the night before Christmas putting things together.  We also discovered this year that Corinne has a pretty severe allergy to the Christmas tree, and it was giving her lots of asthma and allergy issues, so behold, our last real Christmas tree ever...sigh...
Last year with a real tree but the FIRST year that I sprang for matching Christmas jammies for the parents!  If these last as long as my last pair of Christmas jammies, we will get more than our money's worth...
The girls went shopping with Mawmaw again this year to choose gifts for the family, but we learned from past mistakes and this year they went with a budget!

Mawmaw's favorite gifts usually involve pictures of the kids...

Watts wanted to learn to sew so Stella bought a kit for him at the book fair...

Stella was shocked by her stand mixer...

Watts wanted nunchucks and Corinne and the Dollar Tree delivered...

It is so nice to see them taking a break from arguing to share some Christmas love...

Cille LOVED her new dress from Mawmaw...obviously...

Corinne's enthusiasm is contagious...
These photos are all mixed up somehow, so here we are again posing in the front of the tree...

If someone gives you a sleeping bag, you need to try it out immediately...
Merry Christmas to all!

Park City

We got to spend a few days at our favorite ski resort right before Christmas!  Now that the three big kids can ski, hitting the slopes is a family affair...
Watts had to spend some time in ski school, so we did have a chance to spend some alone time with the big girls...
Corinne also attended ski school.  She wasn't a big fan or a great proficient at skiing, but we'll try again next year...

She does win the cutest little snow bunny on the slopes award, though...
Ski school can REALLY wear you out!

Lunch break!

Rest and a snowball fight!

Taking a break...

Getting fitted for her skis at ski school...
Getting her vest at ski school.  You can tell from her expression that she's not so sure about this...

Ready to take a sleigh to the top of the mountain!

These next photos were taken right before asthma attacks began and Cille, Corinne, and I got a free snowmobile ride to the bottom of the mountain...

The next day Corinne and I stayed cozy in the condo while everyone else went on a snowmobiling adventure...

We spotted Watts with his ski school class...
...and Corinne!
Cookies in the condo before hitting the hot tub...

We had a great time hitting the slopes and can't wait to do it again!
