Dance Photos

Dance photo day is always crazy hectic and exhausting, but the end results this year were pretty fantastic...

The girls have to take a photo together for the program, so I usually have them wear the costumes that coordinate the best...
For individual shots I am a mean mom and make you wear the costume that I think is the most flattering on you.  Stella did not get to change, in spite of her desire to wear a purple sequined jazz costume...
I don't think she can argue with the results.  One day she will thank me...
Cille wore her tap costume for individual shots, and both girls had group photos done in an entirely different costume.
Thank goodness we made it through all the wardrobe changes without me losing my mind or any of the pieces of their costumes!  Now we can't wait for recital!

Zoo To Do for Kids

Madeline always has the best and most fun ideas, so when she told me about Zoo To Do for kids, I knew we had to go!

Some of the things we learned were a bit disturbing...
The kids attended their first foam party...

Ate their weight in mini-snowballs and other yummy snacks...

And had a blast on the inflatables!
We had a great time hanging out with Madeline and her family at the zoo. We can't wait "To Do" it again!

Literacy Night and Field Trip Fun

Parkview's elementary division hosted a literacy night that was fun for the whole family!  This is Cille posing with her 1st grade teacher, who was about 8 months pregnant and donned hip waders to host the most adorable game of Go Fish ever!  We love this sweet teacher who is a living example of tremendous inner and outer beauty...
The theme was Camp Read S'more...
But the fun for the week didn't end on literacy night!  Cille's class took a field trip to the Louisiana Art and Science Museum...
Everybody had fun!  The little kids...
AND the big kids...
This sweet lady is an AMAZING educator!  Her enthusiasm for her subject matter is contagious!
I really enjoyed spending some one-on-one time with my #2 gal and couldn't resist making her pose in front of the Old State Capitol...

And the Mississippi River Bridge...

Strawberry Patch Kids

Mrs. Heather's Strawberry Patch is one of our favorite spring outings.  Stella and Corinne are the only two kids who actually eat strawberries, but they all love to pick them...

They also love to play around on the farm...

Looks like Mrs.  Heather needs one more strawberry...
They're the sweetest berries in the patch!

Steamboat, Take 2

Spring Break in Louisiana beat the end of ski season in Steamboat by about a week, so we decided to take another crack at the slopes.  Poor Watts broke his arm a couple of days before our departure, so he and Corinne had to stay home with Mawmaw and Pawpaw.  The Guillorys were our traveling companions for this trip, so that gave us 5 of the cutest snow bunnies you have ever seen...
Framily photo time!
Damon and I took a ski lesson together, which I highly recommend, since this lesson basically helped me get from the "fear of impending doom" style of skiing to the "relaxed and actually having fun" style of skiing.  I would love to do another lesson on our next trip...
One of my favorite pastimes on the slopes (besides actually skiing) is making the children stop and pose for portrait mode photos on my phone.  It is so fun for me...and begrudgingly tolerated by them...
Sadie...
Selfie with my Cilley!

Selfie with my Stell-Bell...

Selfie with my bestie...
Selfie with the coolest kids on the mountain...
Damon and his mini-me...
Quality lift time with my beloved big Guillory girls.  They truly trained Damon for parenthood and I am forever in their debt...
Lots of great lift selfies from this trip.  Can you tell I was not as cold as last time?
This kid loves to model...

Pretending to be a "normal" family of four on the lift...

All these photos did cause a little delay, which led to Sadie napping near the lift waiting for us...
One of the most thrilling/terrifying parts of our trip was when we received a call from John, who had Sadie and Stella with him, to alert us that they had spotted a moose on the mountain.  There are lots of warnings posted around the resort that if you see a moose you SHOULD NOT APPROACH IT.  You can imagine our alarm when we heard John telling the girls as he hung up the phone, "Y'all go over there and stand by the moose so I can take your picture..."
I have never actually seen a St. Bernard with the little cask on his neck, so I was thrilled to capture it. Maybe that little cask is for the moose victims...
Lunchtime!
We also had a Pourciau first on this trip: our first escape room visit!  And we escaped!  And saved a few stuffed animals in the process...
On our way back we got to have lunch with one of our favorite cousins...
We had a great time skiing with the Guillory gang, even if our family names don't form a super-cool hashtag.  Can't wait to hit the slopes with them again soon!
