Trick or Treat!

As I mentioned before, it rained this Halloween, causing our neighborhood social to be cancelled and our trick or treating to be threatened.  We joined forces with our neighbors and planned to do some indoor trick or treating, but just as we snapped that last group picture, the doorbell rang and it was one of the neighborhood kids and her dad, soggy, but persevering in the name of treats.  The arrival of our first trick or treater coincided with the arrival of our neighbors, and their older child begged to trick or treat for just two houses.  This sounded like something we could deal with, so in a rush we all grabbed umbrellas and set out to visit our nearby neighbors.  This was very poor planning on the part of Damon and me, because about 5 houses down we realized that there was going to be no turning back.  The kids were in it for the long haul, and we were ill prepared to keep them dry.  Keep a close eye on Cille's dress as our expedition gets longer...
Soggy but happy...
Hair soaked and dress sopping...
Watts thought we were nuts.  He was also fussing for someone to actually feed him some of the candy...
Still having fun, in spite of having to swim from house to house...

This picture pretty much sums up the whole experience.  Cille is now drenched and Tinkerbell has shed her fancy light-up shoes...
Tink has just about had enough...

One of our fabulous neighbors who really gets into trick or treating.  Her treats were hidden inside her book of spells...

Eventually Stella was miserable enough to ask her dad to take her home.  Wendy and Pocahontas would not be deterred from their mission, though, so the moms continued...(along with our staff photographer, Mawmaw.  We love you, Mr. Smee!)
Eventually Cille's dress became see through.  I am so glad I chose pink underwear for her that day...not...
Once we made it home and changed into some dry things, we enjoyed warm pizza and yummy cupcakes with our neighbors and family.  See?  There are advantages to the neighborhood social being cancelled, at least when your friend volunteers to bring cupcakes to the social and shares them with you instead!  Watts was so thankful...

"What are you looking at?"
This is how the night ended...Tinkerbell fell asleep cuddling her goodies...
