Family Halloween 2.0

The girls also got a Halloween surprise compliments of Mawmaw: costumes for their baby dolls!  I Don't Know went as Elsa...

And Caroline was Dorothy, complete with ruby slippers...

Pam also joined us as grown-up Jessie.  Cille was so excited that she and Pam had the same costume...

Family Halloween 1.0

So after we force you to pose for individual pictures in this family, we then force you to pose with your siblings...

Did I mention that I masqueraded as one of the aliens chosen by The Claw?  My costume was a giant onesie with attached gloves and a hood...perfect camouflage for a 9 months pregnant belly...

Halloween with "Woody"

When we decided on our Toy Story theme, we gave Watts first costume choice, and presented him with either Woody or Buzz Lightyear costumes.  I believe he chose Woody mostly because of the hat, but again when I ordered his actual costume from Disney it came with no hat and there was not one available for order!  Ugh!  We were very fortunate that Uncle Chad and Aunt 'Laina recently brought Tucker and Reid authentic Woody hats from Disney World, so Aunt Lacie let us borrow one.  Watts had been asking for boots so Mawmaw made a trip to the boot store and completed his look...

He also ended up with a very Buzz Lightyear looking gun.  I am not sure where that came from, but I feel like grandparents were probably the culprits...

Watts was so happy to finally be "Woody."  He had been talking about his costume for weeks...

"Howdy, ma'am..."

We, of course, taught him to say, "There's a snake in my boot!"

We used our horse to stand-in for Bullseye.  This poor horse has pretended to be every Disney horse from Maximus on down at one time of another...

Halloween with "Jessie"

For her character, Cille chose Jessie.  Her costume was easy to order from the Disney Store, and they even offered matching red boots.  They did not, however, sell the hat.  What is up with that?  Luckily Target had a very authentic Jessie hat available...

Cille's pants were a little too big so she had trouble keeping her shirt tucked in at first...

Luckily our sweet neighbor came to the rescue with some safety pins and Cille was kind enough to pose for a few more photos...

What a ham!

Since we are a little obsessed with taking Halloween photos, Damon set up a backdrop in the garage in case darkness or inclement weather ruined our outdoor photo shoot.  While we did not have to use the garage that night, the kids dressed up in their costumes again the next day for our church's fall festival and we decided to take a few more photos in front of the backdrop we had prepared...  

Yee-haw!

Halloween with "Barbie"

Halloween is kind of a big deal for our family.  Each year since Stella's second Halloween we have chosen a theme and all worn costumes.  Through the years we have been a kitten and two veterinarians, Princess (Cinderella) and the Pea, characters from the children's book Petite Rouge, characters from The Wizard of Oz, and characters from Peter Pan.  This year our theme was Toy Story, and Stella did not take much convincing to agree to go as Barbie...

This Barbie look is inspired by a 1983 doll named "Great Shape Barbie"...

We were able to order the unitard and leg warmers online, and she already had the belt, but the shoes presented a bit of a problem.  We could not find any pink high heels for a girl her size, so we bought a black pair covered in fabric and painted them pink.  It took several coats of paint to achieve this color...
