Christmas Morning, Part 2

I love that this kid is SOOOO into her multiplication workbook...

Checking out their matching bracelets from Grandma Tonie.  Corinne accidentally opened hers earlier...
Corinne was not at all sure about Pusheen the Cat...
She has an earring in her hand...
And finally the big reveal!  For Christmas we gave our kids the gift of DELAYED GRATIFICATION!!!  Whoohoo!
Seriously, the kids had been asking for a playhouse for a while, so we finally found one that a company would come out and build on-site in our backyard...the only problem was that they couldn't build it until February.  Oops!  But instead of looking at this as a parenting fail, I am spinning it as a life lesson.  I believe there is some research out there that says that kids that can delay gratification grow up to be more successful, or something like that, so we were not giving a late gift, we were building character!  Stella and Watts were excited about the playhouse, and Cille was confused for some reason...
The girls went shopping with Mawmaw and their father's credit card again this year, but this time we learned our lesson and gave them a budget!  Pawpaw was thrilled with the hand warmers they chose for him...

Mawmaw loved the jewelry Watts and Corinne picked out for her...

Only in Louisiana are flip flops an appropriate Christmas gift...
And we saved the consolation prize for last.  Since the playhouse was going to be late, Damon wanted them to have something on Christmas morning, so we got a basketball goal...

They were pumped up.  Even the ones that don't play basketball!

We spent the rest of the day playing with baby dolls and shooting hoops...
Watts is gonna be a great dad some day.  He loves babies...
His dad was pretty worn out after all that basketball...
But he got a second wind later and went back for more...
We hope your Christmas was as full of fun and family as ours!
