Family Christmas Party, Part 2

For the reading of the Christmas story, we did a left and right pass around game for the little kids (with some help from the sweet teenagers).  Our goal was to keep the younger ones engaged and prevent fidgeting, but for future reference, the story went on waaaaay too long and the kids lost interest before the Christ child actually made His appearance...

I think you can tell that this activity didn't go so well by the enthusiastic look on Watts's face...

Soon it was time for the adult game.  There are many different names for this game, but you basically draw a number, choose a gift to open or steal one from somebody who already opened it, and whoever draws number one gets one final steal at the end of the game...

There were several interesting gifts under the tree...
Like this toilet light that Uncle Firth got.  I seriously think Watts could use one of these...

One of these sisters loves the camera, and one hates it.  Guess who hates it?
Aunt Ruby loves her some Reid!

Shannan got an LSU themed scarf, which I think Madison will steal from her, and Mike LOVED his bird feeder.  I am confident he did not already have one like it...
I am sure Jeremy is getting lots of use out of his selfie stick...

3 generations...

We ended the night enjoying hearing the family musicians play the piano.  I think next year we need to do Christmas carols with musical accompaniment...

Mawmaw Shirley was still not loving the camera, but the camera sure loves Shannan and Selena!
Kids love Jeremy...
...and he might need some help because he's under attack...

Uncle Ryan stayed late and entertained us with his travel advice.  He gives Dollywood 5 stars...
These two crack me up...
It was great to have (almost) everyone together to celebrate the season.  I am so glad that our family makes this special gathering a priority.  I hope that 2017 brings us lots more time with the rest of the Clines!
