Pretend Christmas Morning, Part 3

Christmas 2015 was also the year of the electronic pet at our house.  Stella got a cat...

Mawmaw got a hug...from a child, not an electronic pet...
Cille got a unicorn...
Corinne got a giant talking Elmo.  She did not know who or what he was...

Stella and Cille worked together to paint a beautiful Christmas ornament for Mawmaw and Pawpaw...
Great job, girls!
Stella's body gift was a quilt making set.  Instead of a quilt, she used the squares to craft everything from a dress for her baby doll to scarves for all of us to wear on our trip north...
Corinne's body gift was her very own big girl pillowcase.  Everyone else got pillow cases last year...

Corinne's spiritual gift may have been a little above her level, but she'll grow into it, and her siblings can enjoy it until she does...
I was most excited about Cille's spiritual gift.  She loves QR codes and scans them every chance she gets.  I found a kids' Bible that has QR codes all throughout that the reader can scan to watch a video version of the Bible story on their mobile device.  How great is that?  Cille loves it and spends time by herself exploring the Bible...

Mawmaw and Pawpaw gave Corinne this beautiful necklace with a cross inside a heart...
The kids "wrote" Mawmaw and Pawpaw their annual Our Adventures Together book once again this year.  I am not sure how many years in a row we have done this, but it is a great way to gather together all the photos and stories of time we spent together throughout the year.  I would love to have something like this from my own childhood, and hopefully someday the kids will appreciate this gift as much as their grandparents do...

What can I say?  We ALL love Captain America...

That's one stoic unicorn owner...

Stella got some chapstick called "Chicken Poop."  Ewwww...
Watts got a giant dinosaur toy...

And I was very surprised to receive exactly what I wanted!
Okay, maybe not as surprised as I would have been had I not gotten the Amazon shipping notification, but it is the thought that counts, and Damon sprang for the gift wrapping, so I actually got to open something this year.  I give my hubby two thumbs up in the thoughtfulness department...
In other news, I had an epic fail when it came to my gift for Damon.  I planned to order a canvas for him of our latest family photo, but couldn't get the image to upload at a high enough quality to actually make the order.  Eventually I had to just ask my favorite geek for help with placing the order, which kind of ruined the surprise for him.  Sorry, Damon.  I'll try again next year.

Once again we had a wonderful Christmas morning together, even if it was not actually December 25th.  Each year as I shop and prepare for this tradition I am always so thankful that we have stuck with the "3 gifts" rule.  It keeps Christmas morning with 4 kids from becoming too chaotic and adhering to the gold, frankincense, and myrrh categories helps us keep the emphasis on the real birthday boy and His gift to us.
