Just Bouncing Around Town
Stella and I had a marvelous day of fun Monday. First, we hit up story time at the library where Stella danced like no one was watchin' and wore herself out enough to take a short nap in the car on our way to LUNCH WITH DADDY! Whoo-hoo!...
What does your lawyer do on his lunch break? For Damon R. Pourciau, Esquire, it's all glamour, all the time...

Since Daddy had to go back to the office (why doesn't every job give you the summer off?), Stella and I decided to head over to BooKoo Bounce and crash Cohen's day of fun with his mommy and Aunt Trix...

Action shot...

I did a terrible job of getting pics of Stella and Cohen together. I am blaming this on Emily. She promised to bounce with Stella if I would take pictures of her and Cohen with her camera. This made me nervous. Cohen is one of the cutest kids on earth, but also one of the fastest, which made most of the pictures that I took very blurry. I am hoping that the pics on Emily's camera were at least worth not deleting, but I guess we'll all just have to check her blog and see. At least in this through-the-mesh shot they are having fun together...

Stella eventually requested that I take her home, complaining that she was tired. Unfortunately for her, I decided a shopping trip was in order before we headed back to LaPlace. I wondered why she was so quiet in the stroller until I noticed that she had succumbed...

Pool Time with Daddy
Yesterday Stella was eager to show off her new swimming skills for Daddy. They had a great time splashing around, and Cille and I had a great time playing photographer and trying to keep the photoshoot from becoming an underwater one...
So many toys, none of which actually belonged to us...
So much fun! Look at those smiles...
Since I will be taking a hiatus from the pool for a while, Stella and Daddy will have lots of pool adventures together for the rest of the summer.

Haircut
Our little princess visited the Children's Hair Palace Thursday morning for a spa day...
Daddy helped Stella look down so that the back of her hair could be cut...
When the hairdresser took a telephone call, Stella decided to tour the place a bit...
Yes, we had to change chairs mid-cut. Might as well try them all out, huh?

The finished product...

Swimming Lessons
This week Stella has been taking swimming lessons. We have a tendency to push Stella to do things way too early, and I am pretty sure that this is another one of those times, since most kids are starting at 3 rather than 2. I just wanted to see what progress we could make and hopefully impress upon her that you cannot jump into the pool by yourself if Mommy is not in the pool. (Yes, this happened. Thank God I was standing within arm's length!) So far her favorite part of swimming lessons is pouring water out of the watering can onto the top of her teacher's head and watching her grow like a flower. Her least favorite part: anything that has to do with getting your face wet. Here Stella and her friend Julia are checking out toys with Ms. Lindsey...
We have three lessons down and two to go. Hopefully we will not get any more thunderstorm delays since I noticed a real improvement when Stella was able to have lessons on 2 consecutive days.

Maternity Pictures Preview
A couple of weekends ago, our wonderful friend Dara, who just happens to be a very talented photographer, took some maternity/family photos for us. Dara is the talent behind our most recent Christmas card and Stella's maternity pictures. She and her handsome assistant really had their work cut out for them, since Stella refused to take a nap the day of the photo shoot and was super cranky. Here is a small sample of what she captured...
More of Dara's brilliance coming soon...

Sunday, Funday
Sunday afternoon we went to Erwinville to spend the day with Pawpaw and Mawmaw. While we were there, Stella spent some time showing off her blog to the Old Man...
She also helped make cookies for the very first time. Here she is measuring out her dough...
Such a perfectionist. We love having no more milk allergy!
Cheese! Let's get these things in the oven!

While we were waiting on Stella's cookies to cool, Aunt Lacie brought over her three sweet puppies to play. How lucky can you get?
Soooo happy...
Let's hold one...

"He's sucking on my finger!"
The aftermath of that episode...
Stella sharing puppy-care tips...

You have to be very gentle because they're just babies. We are trying to get this lesson in early...
When the puppies went home for their nap, it was time to try our cookies. Stella served them up...
And pronounced them delicious!
