Our first night in the hotel (It was historic...Hilton Midtown) things were going well until Corinne threw up. While we had been busy packing clothes, she was apparently planning to bring along the stomach bug we had been passing around the house for the last couple of weeks. Fun! We cleaned her up and kept rocking and rolling, because, what else can you do?
On Sunday morning we hit the streets and did a little sight seeing before heading to our first show: Aladdin. I took this photo with my phone while we were heading to the show. I loved how Damon was just marching down the street handling business with all three of the big kids. He didn't even really need me, as evidenced by me hanging out and taking pictures. He sure has come a long way from the guy I married. You go, Superdad...
After the show, which was great, we headed over to Toys R Us in Times Square. Sadly, they were closing this location at the end of the year when their lease ran out, so we wanted to go and ride the famous ferris wheel one more time...
We naturally had to check out some of the merchandise while we were there, but buying anything was out of the question, since it was a couple of days before Christmas and the lines were out of control...Me and my sweetie on the ferris wheel...
We appropriately got the Toy Story car...(they only allowed 4 riders so Daddy couldn't go.)
It's a bird...it's a plane...NO! It's SUPERMAN!
Our official photo...
After Toys R Us, we were hungry so we went to one of our favorite places to eat in NYC- Ellen's Stardust Diner. Unfortunately, you have to wait in line outside for a table at Ellen's, and since Cille was exhausted, she took a little nap on the sidewalk while we were in line. This is how Pourciaus do NYC...if you are tired, take a nap on the concrete because this train is not stopping!
She perked up once we were inside...The next day while Damon attended class we took the kids to play in Central Park...
As a resident of the (mostly rural or suburban) South my entire life, it is so weird to me to see such tall buildings surrounding a playground...
The park was too much fun for Corinne...or maybe it was that snowsuit. Every time we put her in that thing she just went limp...
The first day Mawmaw stayed with Corinne while the rest of us went to the show, so it was my turn to keep Wren the next time. Damon, Mawmaw, and the big 3 attended the Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular and loved it. Corinne and I checked out the Museum of Modern Art where I got to see Starry Night and chase her around for a while. Afterwards we all met back up to see the tree at Rockefeller Center...
And then we took the stage door tour at Radio City Music Hall. It was neat, and Stella and Cille enjoyed it, but if you have kids under the age of 5, DO NOT TAKE THEM. Watts and Corinne were much less than enthusiastic about the tour and, as evidenced in this photo, a little disinterested in having their photograph taken with a real live Rockette...
We had dinner at Ellen's again that night and then packed up for our flight the next day to Buffalo. More of our adventures are coming soon, so stay tuned!
