One of the best parts of making the move to Baton Rouge has been being closer to family. We've been able to see our loved ones a lot more frequently now that our house is 30 minutes away rather than over an hour. When we volunteered to host the family Christmas party again I think most of our relatives thought we were nuts, but since I was off all semester and Watts was over 4 months old, I figured we were about as ready as we would ever be. I also planned on the family cooking all the party food, which worked out just as deliciously as I thought it would. I had a tummy ache from overeating party leftovers for a week! You can tell how great the food was from Pam's empty plate and Kyle's closed-mouthed smile...he had a mouthful of yummies...
Benjamin said the sausage bread was the best dish. Of course it was made by moi...(Benjamin didn't really say this, and I am actually quite confident that the sausage bread was not the best, judging from the fact that there was actually some of it left over and there was not a scrap of shrimp fettuccine left behind.)
Madison is beautiful even when caught off-guard with a mouthful of food...
