Swimming Lessons and LSU Baseball

As the weather got warmer, our thoughts turned to swim team and we had one little fishy in our family who still needed to learn to swim!  So we signed Corinne up, dug out the old wetsuit, and hoped for the best.  Unfortunately for our poor Coach Will, Corinne was probably the worst pupil he ever had.  She screamed and cried for about 28 minutes out of every 30 minute lesson.  When she finally calmed down enough to listen to him for two minutes, she always learned a lot...
Ladies, if this young man is still single, you need to snap him up quickly.  Judging from the way he handled the abuse he received from this little firecracker, he'll make a very calm and caring dad one day...
While Corinne was screaming her head off at Will, Watts and his buddy were catching some LSU Tigers baseball at the Box!

Touring the Swamp with Cille

Third grade is the swamp field trip when you're a Parkview Eagle!  After growing up attending a school that had zero traditions, I love, love, love the fact that you always know what's coming at Parkview.  Stella had a blast on her trip to Honey Island Swamp, and I couldn't wait for Cille to experience the magic...
My sweet bug with a sweet swamp piggy...
One of the best elementary administrators on the planet was in on the fun, too...
Only in Louisiana do you see hogs and alligators happily munching marshmallows together in peace.  We are truly an example for the rest of the world...
Cille took along her hand-me-down digital camera and diligently documented her trip.  That's the camera Damon and I used to capture photos of the girls when Stella was a baby...

The friend group known as ACE! Ava, Cille, Emma...they are truly iron sharpening iron.  I am so thankful God blessed Cille with these amazing friends, and blessed our families with friendships as well...

We had a great time in the swamp, and I can't wait to go back with Watts!

Ziplining in Branson

If you know much about our family, then you probably know that we're always up for an outdoor adventure.  Luckily Dad was able to join our vacation in progress before he missed zip-lining day...

Cille wins best pose...

So, you may notice that we are a man down in this photo.  That's because Corinne did NOT enjoy her first zip-lining experience, and opted to bail after the first platform and watch cartoons on an iPad with one of the female guides.  Maybe she'll be ready for the adventure next time...

Spring Break in Branson, Part 2

One of our favorite parts of Silver Dollar City had to be the rides...
Oh, and the playground where a vacuum system lets you shoot foam balls at your siblings...

We panned for gold...
Took a water ride...

Ate pizza...

Okay, we spent A LOT of time shooting our siblings with foam balls...

We also enjoyed the shows.  This monkey was a hoot...

These gross things were everywhere...

We had some friendly competition at dinner...

Caught a juggling show...
Hit our move goals by pushing strollers uphill...

Took careful aim...

Showed off Mom's double chin...

And on our trip back home we even ran into Uncle Zak and our cousin Zachariah in the Dallas airport!
Corinne is tall for her age, but Zachariah is 2 months younger and he is a giant!
We had a fun spring break in Branson, and Dad was even able to join us once his work was done.  He also bought a house while we were out of town, so guess what? We're moving!  But that's a story for a later post.
