Watts's 2nd Birthday Party

For Watts's birthday party we chose a pirate theme.  Since he has only watched TV accidentally up to this point (like when he was in the room while the girls were watching Sophia or something) he doesn't really know any characters or like any shows yet.  I tried to think about things that he does like and capitalize on those for his party theme.  So far his likes are: digging and sword fighting.  That screamed to me "swashbuckling adventure," hence the pirate theme.  Lucky for us, we have a pirate in the family who was willing to show her true colors at the party...
Pam's costume was too perfect.  Lots of the kids thought she was a real pirate, which cracked me up.  Watts is so far not a fan of people in costumes, so he was not as pumped about the pirate at his party as the rest of the kids were...
Watts's bestie came to his party.  We love this cute little guy...
To keep with our theme we used Cille's sand play table to bury "gold doubloons" and threw in a few of our beach shovels to help with the digging for buried treasure...

We also set up the bouncer, which at this point is our birthday party staple...

Hula hoop fun with Kelli and Claire...

I love a man in a pink car...
Poor Aaron under attack...

I had to basically stalk Skyler in order to get this picture, but it turned out cute anyway.  That little fella has a BIG personality...

Cille's shirt says "Boys....Be Afraid!"  I thought it might be a good shirt to wear on party day just to give some of the smaller guests a heads up...

More party fun to come!

Watts's 2nd BirthDAY

Watts started his birthday off like all Pourciaus, with a birthday breakfast.  Since he still sleeps in his baby bed for now, he had his breakfast in his high chair.  I felt like eating breakfast in the baby bed might feel a little like eating breakfast in baby jail.  Watts also has the distinction of being our pickiest child, so he ate muffins for breakfast just like he does every morning.  I also neglected to take pictures of him since this is a pretty everyday occurrence.  After breakfast, we set out for JC Penney's to have some birthday photos taken, just like we did last year.  Those will be coming soon to the blog.  Then it was time for a nap, and later we just played and picked Cille up from school.  Then we waited for Stella to get finished with her dance class so that we could celebrate with Kid's Night/Steak Night at CCL.  Mawmaw, Pawpaw, Mawmaw Shirley, and Savanah joined us.  Back at home, Watts was treated to presentpalooza 2014...

One useful item that he received was a Spiderman bike helmet so he can start practicing to ride like Lance...

He also got a few action figures so he can quit playing with his sister's baby dolls.  I will say, however, that I am positive he will be an excellent father one day...

Of course his sisters had to get a couple of treats also...

"Hulk smash!"

The Guillory Gang got Watts this cool animal sorter...
From Mom and Dad Watts got the most boring gift of all: big boy bedding so he can move out of the crib and make room for his new sister.  Stella received the exact same thing for her second birthday.  Cille escaped this fate because she and Stella sleep together...
I think Watts's favorite gift was his new pirate-themed rubber boots...
He was also a fan of Stella's no more tangles hairbrush...
He even helped Cille remove a few tangles...
After presents it was time for cupcakes and ice cream.  We also used this time as practice for blowing out candles...
A little skeptical...

While trying to show him what to do, I accidentally blew out his candles.  Oops!  We had to have a do-over...

After dessert, Pawpaw and Mawmaw Shirley helped Watts play with his new toys...

Happy birthday, Watts!  You are my favorite boy ever!
