On Sundays in January the kids had a great time showing off their Christmas duds in a weekly church outfit fashion show...

Dads and Daughters
Now that we are living in "We Are BR," I saw a billboard for a fun little program LSU offers for dads and their little girls. "Dads and Daughters" encourages fathers to spend time introducing their daughters to the joy of athletics by decking them out in matching t-shirts and giving them tickets to selected LSU women's sporting events throughout the year. How cute are they?
So far a few of the events have fallen on inconvenient days for us, but Damon and Stella have attended a gymnastics meet (which according to Damon was NOTHING like the Olympics) and Pawpaw took Stella to a basketball game. Next year when Cille is a little older the girls will take turns "dating" Daddy for the events...Forever LSU!

A Visit from Pop and Nana
So this is not the best look for any of the people in this picture, but I am posting it because we had a rare and special treat a few days into the new year: a visit from the Wilson Family! (Well, three-fifths of the Wilson Family. Darn those big kids and their independence!) Lowell and Angie have been like a second mom and dad to me (albeit a mom and dad much too young to have actually given birth to me and much cooler than real parents...but you get the point.) and for Tab and Zach I have been like an annoying older sister who won't go away and who loves to butt into your life and boss you around. Sarah can relate. It was great to see them and spend a little time catching up, even though our visit was much too short!
Now it's our turn to visit them, so find us some plane tickets, Damon! Love you, Wilsons!

Zoo Lights
A couple of days after Christmas we decided that we needed to experience the Baton Rouge Zoo Lights on one of the coldest nights of the year. The exhibit would be closing soon, and lots of rain was in the forecast, so we braved the chilly weather for some family fun. Getting bundled up for our adventure was quite the ordeal...
Thank goodness Cille's hand-me-down snowsuit from Talia still fit her. Note to self: go back to February and post a blog about our ill-fated ski trip...Whooo's that lady?
Cille is not always a happy recipient of her parents' affection...
You may notice that Watts chose to wear his Halloween costume to the zoo lights. He was a lion, so I thought it was appropriate...
Oooooh. Aaaaaah...
I'm proud as a peacock of my kiddos...
Two little monkeys...
A kind family offered to take a picture of all 5 of us...
My big monkey...
Watts looks very content, but things went south soon after this and I had to hold him AND push his stroller for the second half mile of our trek...
In spite of our struggles, it was still a fun outing!

Christmas Day
After breakfast we made our way through a torrential downpour to Mawmaw and Pawpaw's house to celebrate Christmas Day with our extended family...
Reid was glad to see us...
Tucker likes to look at the world in his own way...
In his spare time he enjoys attacking his brother...
Watts is glad he only has sisters to push him around...
Cille was really excited about her very own cup...
See what I mean?
Watts thought Aunt Alaina's wrapping paper was quite tasty...
Stella worked on some art projects while we were there...
McDonald's! Our new favorite toy...
How cute are these chef hats from Aunt Sheila?
Now if only they had someone who could teach them to cook...
Mawmaw Shirley is trying to cuddle...Watts is trying to watch television...
Stella was a little excited about the hairstylist chair Mawmaw Shirley gave her for Izzy...
The only person whose face was happier than Stella's was Damon. He has great hopes that this chair will cut down on Izzy's beauty salon bills...We had a great day opening gifts with the family, and celebrating the greatest gift of all, our Savior Jesus Christ!
