Sleepover Friends

Bless her heart, Stella is just like her daddy.  When she does things, she does them big, so instead of having a normal sleepover with one friend, she decided to have an epic sleepover with 8 of her closest companions from school...

One friend had a volunteer commitment at church the next morning, so only 7 made it through the night. They cleaned up for church pretty nicely and definitely gave the middle school Sunday school class its highest attendance on record...

Hooray for friend time! 
 

Softball Practice

Recently another mom asked me if Corinne would like to join a softball team of all Parkview kindergarten girls.  I asked Corinne, and she jumped at the chance to try out softball with her friends.  We dug out a pink bat that we got in a bag of hand-me-downs one time and ordered a helmet on Amazon...

This little slugger was so excited about her first practice! 

And since they were playing through Healing Place's sports ministry, Coach BJ was able to share a Bible story at the end of practice...

Their team name is the Shooting Stars, so watch for lots of pink cuteness coming soon to the softball field! 
 

Readers Are Leaders!

Corinne has been hitting some pretty big milestones during her time in T1 with Mrs. Kemp.  She decided to try out her first chapter book...

And she finished her second sight word book!  The students are challenged to complete both sight word books before the end of the school year, but Corinne finished before the end of February! 

Reading the chapter book was a whole family effort. She  read some chapters to Daddy, some to Mom, and even some to Cille and Gabi! She was so proud to finish the book.  I think for her next chapter book we will choose another series, though, because she spent the entire book correcting Junie B. Jones' grammar!  

Way to go, Corinne!  We are so proud of your hard work! 
 

Inside the Parkview Bubble

One of Madeline's spiritual gifts is always being able to find the perfect birthday or Christmas present.  They are always well thought out and meaningful, but she may have outdone herself this Christmas because she found the best gifts ever for the kids!  

We always joke that the kids live their lives inside the Parkview Bubble, where everyone is nice to you and loves Jesus, so we call these bubbles "The Parkview Bubbles" of course! 

And we love for our school friends to come roll around in the bubbles with us like hamsters!

Our Little Slugger

Watts got traded to a new team for baseball this year.  Not really, we actually loved his old team, but the Cane's practice facility is a lot closer to our house and the dance studio, so there you go, the plight of a kid with too many siblings.  Anyway, he sure is handsome in his new uniform sporting Daddy's old number...

Did I mention Daddy is also helping coach?  They have spent a ton of quality time together practicing and playing tournament ball...

It's tough to have so many coaches in the family, but I still love this picture of Pawpaw fussing at him in the dugout...

His sisters have had a blast being there to support him...

Watts has really learned a lot playing first base...

Coach Ryan was Watts' head coach two years ago, so it was cool to be back with him and be teammates with his son again...

And Watts even has an entire fan club that comes to watch him play...

The Ice-pocalypse

You know how Southerners react anytime there is a threat of snow.  Kids get excited and parents get anxious because nobody down here knows how to drive in that!  The forecast made some dire predictions about cold and precipitation, schools closed down, and all we got was ice.  Sigh.  This doormat may have finally won the prize for coldest Pourciau...

The kids were unfazed by the fact that there was no actual snow, and only a couple of flakes of sleet.  They dug out all the ski gear and headed out into the cold.  Sadly, it has been so long since we went skiing that Stella had to wear my bibs...

Corinne made an ice angel on the turf in the batting cage...

And I am pretty positive that the solar panels weren't super effective today...

We enjoyed our southern "snow day" and spent most of our time inside by the fire!  Sadly, the ice stayed around for a while and lots of our plants still have not fully recovered.  
 

Last Basketball Game

Cille and her teammates had a great basketball season, and Cille even scored her first goal in the last game, which they won by a lot...
