Corn Maze and Sunflowers

One of the fall highlights around here is the Corn Maze at Burden.  This year there was a sunflower patch nearby that made a perfect photo op...

Stella likes to get a little "instagram influencer" with her poses...

I will take a flower from this handsome guy any day!

My favorite kiddos!

The hay mountain in the middle of the corn maze is a great time...
As is the tennis ball slingshot station at the end of the maze...

Cutest veggies ever!

This year there was also a petting zoo...

Teamwork makes the dream work...
Corinne's face is classic...

Back to doing it for the 'gram...

Caroline didn't really know what to make of these wild kids...
Still posing...

Last pretzel pose...

We had a blast exploring Burden!

Top Chef: First Grade Edition

Our fantastic elementary school principal recently instituted "club" days for the elementary, and since only the 3rd and 4th graders participate in clubs, the 1st and 2nd graders get to do hands-on activities during club time.  Mrs. Foval chose to live her Top Chef dreams and do a full-blown cooking show in her 1st grade classroom.  Since I was one of the room moms, I got recruited to help make crock pot apple sauce...
The kids learned how to follow a recipe and measure ingredients...
Some of them were more enthusiastic about trying the apple sauce than others...
Chef Foval is in the back, overseeing it all...

Making applesauce is hard work!

We had a great day making awesome sauce!

LSU Football

These two cuties continued living the BR dream by going to the LSU football game with Damon...
The Golden Girls were celebrating a milestone by inviting back all their former members.  We know several, so it was fun to see them perform on the field together...
Sweatiest kids in Death Valley, but also the cutest...

Pumpkin Patch, Part 2

Loving each other at the Pumpkin Patch!
Zipline time!
This bale of hay was painted like a giant bumble bee...
Corinne is the only child still young enough to humor me when I ask her to wear seasonal clothing, so, sweaty though she was, I forced her to change into her pumpkin patch dress.  This was the glorious result...
Not exactly the image I was after. Guess I should have brought a blow dryer.  We tried again...

This kid makes my nerves bad...

Maybe we could cool off with some duck races...

Sometimes the nature trail can get messy...
Her face when I asked what happened to her shorts...

Still trying to explain that dusty backside...
