Happy Halloween, Part 5

Trick-or-treat!
Telling us about her candy...
Thor and Cap teamed up to save the neighborhood from too much sugar...
Corinne was beside herself by the time she made it to this house...

She was marching up to houses by herself at this point, grabbing multiple candy bars, and heading back into the night.  She ran into her cousin here and just told him, "Bye, Zachariah!" like she had business to take care of...

Zachariah preferred to sample his candy on the run...

Black Widow or a vampire?

We finally completed the circle and one of our last stops was the Chambley's big bucket of candy.  It looks like the girls are absolutely raiding their stash, but by this time they could really only squeeze one or two more pieces into their buckets...

Next door to the Chambley's a funny thing happened.  We ran into one of Pawpaw's friends from work who liked Pawpaw's costume so much that he took a selfie with him and emailed it out to colleagues.  Sorry, Pawpaw!

Caroline was Queen Daphne...
Three amigos...
This house is super scary.  They have a fog machine and sound effects and the dad and son dress up like zombies and hide in the decorations so they can scare the kids when they stop by...
Two beautiful ladies that we love...
Stella and Elizabeth took over candy distribution duties back at our house...

While Corinne dug into her stash...

Then we all went back for some hayride fun...

The haunted hayride was everyone's favorite...

If you look closely Watts is hiding behind his shield in these...

And here we see the dreaded Pot 'O Gold Phantom who appears on our street near this new construction once every year on Halloween night.  Strangely, he looks a lot like our neighbor Mr. Brian...

It was another wonderful Halloween.  We had a great time with friends and family, and our neighbors were so loving and generous to our children that it just warmed my heart.  Halloween is an experience that I largely missed out on as a child, but I am so glad that my children are using the holiday to build special memories with those they love.

Happy Halloween, Part 4

After all those photos, it was finally time to trick-or-treat.  We started at the house next door, and the big girls were hard to keep up with after that...
Corinne wasn't sure what to think at the first house...
A little anxious about this whole thing...

In our neighborhood, you could literally double-bucket it.  That's how much candy the kids get in a one-third of a mile circle.  It's ridiculous...

Are they trick-or-treating or runway modeling?  Not sure...

In preparation for Halloween, we finally added a speed light to our camera.  Best. Decision. Ever.

Watts was worried about the candy at this house...
But Tripp could not take his eyes off the bat decoration that was hanging from the outdoor light...
I missed the big girls at Mrs. Kelly's house, so I made them come back to pose for a photo with her.  We try to do this every year. To check out another pic with Mrs. Kelly, click here...
By this point in the journey Corinne was pretty excited about this new activity...

She definitely liked the concept once she saw candy was involved...

Trick-or-treaters or Charlie's Angels?

More Halloween to come!

Happy Halloween, Part 3

Our family of 6...
Our family of 8...
Our sweet friends who join us every year for Halloween: Batgirl, a Southern belle, and a Parkview middle schooler...
Brandon decided he was too old to dress up this year.  Boo!
Stella loves to take pictures, and Elizabeth loves to model, so it's a perfect friendship...

Tripp was Antman, but he was not feeling cooperative in the beginning of the photo session.  Later he decided he would participate...

Agent Carter and her fellas...
Next it was time to take a photo of (almost) our whole crew...
Hawkeye was not feeling the photo session, so he was playing nearby in the Cozy Coupe.  Until disaster struck.  We call this next photo "Hawkeye Down"...
The rest of the Avengers rescued him and tried to talk him into taking a couple of photos, but he was off for another important mission...

Trick or treating coming soon!
