It also pays to have friends in the parade.  Ms. Tiffany and Ms. Kristen lit our kids up with the good stuff...

Someone threw Watts a rice krispy treat and he decided to turn parade time into snack time.  He still waved for throws from his chair, though...

I think the highlight of the parade for Mawmaw and the girls was when this kind rider let them pet his horse...

Breaking into another rice krispy treat...catching all those beads can really work up your appetite!

Thank goodness Pam and Mawmaw Shirley joined us that day so we could have some help keeping the kids out of the street...

Mardi Gras Mambo, Part 1

We had plans to be out of town for Mardi Gras, so we made sure to hit the Denham Springs Mardi Gras Parade a week early.  Corinne was excited about her first Mardi Gras...

Cille may have been more excited than her baby sister, since she knows what a Mardi Gras parade is all about...

Mawmaw brought "snacks," aka "candy" for the kids...

Watts was enthusiastic about the snacking...

This is Watts before Damon insisted that he go back to the barber for a good buzz cut...I can remember when Damon had beautiful blonde hair like this...

All the kids made friends at the parade.  Cille would tell her friend, "Want a hug?  You have to catch me first!" and then run off.  Looks like she caught her...

This picture is hilarious to me because the boy in the blue shirt literally saw our kids playing across the highway and left his own family to come join them.  Fun times...
