Happy 80th, Mawmaw Shirley!

In case you thought we only throw kid birthday parties, you should know that we sometimes branch out into the octogenarian market, also.  Months of meticulous planning and secrecy went into Mawmaw Shirley's 80th Birthday Bash, even though the candles were purchased approximately 20 minutes before the party...

The great-grandkids were all gussied up for the occasion...

We decorated with family memorabilia...

And our color scheme was pink and gold...

Finally the birthday girl arrived...

We made a photo book using pictures of Mawmaw through the years and had party guests sign it to create a special keepsake...

Mawmaw has LOTS of great-grands...we're missing two sets of twins in this picture...

Upon arriving she was pretty much mobbed by grandkids...

Shockingly, (at least to this mom) the kids were all very well-behaved...

Mawmaw enjoyed having her friends and family members there to celebrate her special milestone...

Watts' Baton Rouge Zoo Field Trip

Watts' first big kindergarten field trip was to the Baton Rouge Zoo...

His cousin Claire is in his kindergarten class and I think it is safe to say they get along...

Because of scheduling conflicts, Mom wasn't able to attend the field trip with Watts, so our sweet Madeline went in my place.  And then it rained at the zoo and everyone on the trip got soaking wet!  I felt so bad!  Madeline handled it like a trooper, and Watts was so happy to have his "BFF" with him at the zoo...

What a great way to start the year!

First Day of School

The first day of school was here before we knew it!  Stella is a middle schooler this year, so we have kids spread over 3 divisions of our school...

 Cille has taken over Stella's elementary school duties, which include taking the ladies in the office sweet tea after lunch every day...

We're looking forward to another fantastic school year for these sweet girls!
