Shot Through the Heart

...but there's not really anyone to blame because no one is giving love a bad name over here.  When Watts visited the ranch for his first hunt it was early in the season and he had to learn to use the crossbow.  When we came as a family for our second visit, everyone wanted a turn!

If this doesn't melt your heart, nothing will.  He's taken, ladies, but something tells me he'll be a pretty great dad someday...

And now it's time for another installment of "pictures with dead things" starring Stella and her fresh kill...

The deer would not cooperate with us and come near the deer stand where Stella was, so she had to stalk it on foot and shoot standing up.  She had never shot standing up before, but apparently she is lethal whether she is standing up or sitting down...

Chandler did a great job as our hunting guide...

Chandler also moonlights as a professional instagram photographer of trophy bucks...

Huntcation

Pawpaw's favorite hobby is hunting.  I use the term "hobby" loosely; it's more like an obsession.  It's an interest that he shares with Watts and starting recently, with Stella as well.  Their mutual love of killing game led our entire family to a ranch in the wilds of Texas, where the two non-hunters were just there to have a good time...

Watts slayed a couple of beasts at this ranch already, so he was only a spectator on this hunt...

We all had a great time riding around and seeing all the animals...
