Mother's Day Hike

We had a fabulous Mother's Day Hike at Clark Creek Natural Area, but let's start off the blog post with the most terrifying thing that happened on the trip...Damon and John killed a rattlesnake...
The girls had literally just hiked past the snake when the dads noticed it...thank goodness no one was bitten!
We made it to the swimming hole, but Kelly and I opted not to swim...
Stella and Talia got a little too adventurous...

Cade found this creature...a newt? Salamander? I'm not sure.  It was a Mother's Day present none of the mothers wanted...
Damon had to retrieve these two monkeys...

Everybody had a friend or two to hang out with on the hike, and that made it even more fun than normal...

That's a lot of kids!
We recreated a photo we took the last time we all hiked together for Mother's Day...see the comparison below to see how much the kids grew...
Cade and Talia learned about the pressure of falling water...

Looks like Emma and Sadie shrank...

Family photo...

This photo sums up how much fun the kids were having pretty perfectly...

Two little cave girls with their face paint...
This is what most of the hike looked like...total chaos...

We lost track of Corinne for a minute and found her here...

Best friends since birth!

Kelly cave painting...

Hiking to waterfalls is my favorite way to spend Mother's Day!  We all chowed down at Sonny's Pizza afterward.  Hope we can do it all again with an even bigger crew next year!
