Easter, Part 1

On Easter morning we started the celebration with the Easter story from our Jesus Calling kid's devotional Bible...
A fringe benefit of having Stella's party the day before Easter was that Grandma Tonie came for the party and stayed for Easter fun.  Watts was really excited about that...
I am not sure why I let him wear Christmas jammies the night before Easter, but I did.  Oh well...
He quickly bypassed his basket and moved on to the baskets with chocolate in them...
While the kids explored their baskets, Damon read this book to us.  Missy Millet gave it to Stella for one of her birthdays, and it is an AWESOME way to tie the Easter basket to the Easter story.  It goes through every color and explains the symbolism of each one in the Easter story.  Our kids had a great time searching their baskets for the different colors and it helped all of us remember that Easter is REALLY about our Savior's sacrifice, not chocolate bunnies...
Through some miracle, we were able to get the kids dressed and to church before it was over.  Afterwards, we headed out to Mawmaw and Pawpaw's for more Easter fun.  Here are the kids in their church clothes...
Group pictures: hard to do with 3 little kids...
A baby with a baby sitting on her lap...she only has 10 pounds on him...

What handsome guys...
Easter gets a bit ridiculous for our kids.  They got their baskets at home, then they got baskets from Mawmaw and Pawpaw.  Later they got baskets from Aunt Lacie, and goodies from Aunt Sheila and Mawmaw Shirley.  Needless to say, they had a LOT of candy at the end of the day.  And remember, we were still knee deep in birthday party candy from the day before...

If you enlarge the picture you will see that Cille is covered in the sugar from her Sour Rips...

Watts spent a little quality time with Aunt Ruby when she stopped by...

Sugar rush!
I love this sweet baby boy...and the big girl, too...
Such a good big sister...
Stella looks like she's ready for a nap, but don't worry!  She perked back up, and there's more Easter eggcitement to come in my next post...
