Tripp's 1st Birthday Party

You might remember that last October was a boy baby boom in our family.  This October we gathered to celebrate this little guy's first birthday...
He was in a festive mood for the occasion...
Tripp and his favorite lady...
Reid and his favorite lady...
Tucker was getting in his Grandma Tonie time...
And Watts was doing his favorite thing with Mawmaw...
Daddy grilled lots of yummy things for the guests...

Tripp loved the bouncer...
Stella had a great time playing with her new friend...

I am not sure what Tripp thought about all the brotherly love, but Reid was obviously excited to give him a taste of it...

This picture makes me laugh...

Mawmaw was swarmed by baby boys...

I love Cille's facial expression in this one...
Check Cille loving on Reid in the background...
Reid wanted to share the noonie swap game with Tripp...it's a favorite of the Kemp boys...

We went with a fall theme for the party...
Sarah got Tripp a smash cake a couple of weeks ago and he was totally grossed out by it.  Apparently that was just the warm-up he needed, because he was ready to dig into this cake...
Who needs cake when you have balloons?

Deep thoughts...

The girls were happy to help Tripp blow out his candle...

Stella even brought him a safe candle so he could start practicing for next year...

This may be my favorite picture of the day...he's so happy!

Awww...he's even trying to clean up...a child after my own heart...

Tripp could not be bothered to look at the camera when there was ice cream to be eaten...
Yum!
Tripp needed a little wardrobe change before he hit the presents...

Stella sweetly helped her baby cousin get his technique down...

But before long the other kids decided Tripp was taking things too slow...

Eventually it was like Christmas morning with kids ripping open presents everywhere!
I think Aunt Sarah was a little overwhelmed...
The girls commandeered Tripp's sofa AND his presents, poor little guy...
It was fine with him, though, because he just wanted to hang out with his guy friends...
Meanwhile, Watts was worn out by all that partying...
Happy Birthday, Tripp!  We are so glad we could spend your special day with you and we love you so much!  You may have noticed one important family member was missing from the party; Tripp's dad actually traveled back to Libya a few days before for a family wedding.  Tragically, Zak's father passed away on Tripp's birthday.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Zak's family as they cope with their loss.

I didn't realize it was Zak's father. I thought it was his grandfather. I am so sad for them!

Happy 1st Birthday to Tripp! Cute pics!
