It was drizzling but the temperatures were in the mid-seventies. It was so warm that I actually felt bad that I didn't have any shorts for her to wear. I don't think she minded too much...
Since we were some of the slower contestants, we were able to see most of the field on their return from the down and back course. Stella learned good sportsmanship by stepping to the side of the trail and cheering on her fellow racers (one of the men in the picture is actually clapping for Stella clapping for him!)...
Great job, guys!
Once they were out of the way she could really stretch her legs and enjoy a beautiful trail run...
We paused for a few moments to enjoy the early morning beauty of the Red River...
But we picked it back up for the finish...
The official race clock as Stella crossed the finish line! Not bad for (almost) a half mile! I still want to see her chip time...
She had worked up a thirst after all that running...
Sweet refreshment!
You want some, Mom?
When the three mile race began, we filed in at the back of the pack and made our way to the truck, stopping for a few photos along the way...
Stella was really feeling the exhaustion by mile three...
Just kidding! Hahaha...
We can't wait until next year's race! Hopefully we'll be up to four Pourciau trotters!
