Changes...

Back in the day, one of my favorite rappers sang, "Things changed, that's the way it is." Things have indeed changed since then. For one thing, I can no longer listen to that particular greatest hits album now that I am a parent and there is a moratorium on explicit lyrics. But I digress. Big changes are on the way for our family and our blog.

In a few short weeks we are expecting a new family member. Cille Beck Pourciau should be joining us sometime in mid-June. Since there will soon be a new occupant for our baby bed, Stella recently graduated to "Big Girl Furniture." One week while we were at gymnastics, Daddy and Pawpaw set up her furniture. When we unveiled the room to Stella, she totally ignored the furniture and went straight to her mini kitchen and started playing. Eventually she noticed the other changes...
Stella did not get the memo that there are no noonies in big girl beds. As a matter of fact, she uses her top nightstand drawer for noonie storage...

Here is Stella showing off her favorite piece of furniture...the kitchen she already had...

She did ring up a few folks to tell them what was going on...

Three happy Pourciau girls and Elmo in Stella's redesigned room...

Daddy and the giant chicken were pretty excited about things, too...

Those of you who know us well probably also know that we obsessively-compulsively monitor Stella as she sleeps (and have done so her entire life). Well, due to the death of our old monitoring camera and the fact that there now will be two girls to monitor/obsess over, it was time for an upgrade. My crazy husband has now installed built-in cameras complete with night vision in both of the girls' bedrooms. They can be monitored from any television in the house as well as via the internet, even on your portable device! Here is a sample of what the cameras look like...
Creepy, huh? I am soooo looking forward to using these during the dating years!

So, following lots of rearranging and installation of electronics, we are almost ready to welcome Cille to our family. The final frontier was our blog title. We toyed with the idea of beginning another blog for Cille, but decided that it made more sense to just change the name of our current blog and chronicle the lives of both girls in a central location. It is with a heavy heart that I bid farewell to the address "A Streetcar Named Stella," but we are trying to achieve the impossible dream of parents everywhere and treat all our children equally. Thus, we are changing our blog address to www.OurLittleGirls.com, or www.PourciauFamily.com. You will be able to access the same content on either address, but we knew that for acquaintances and even friends, the spelling of our last name can be a bit of a challenge, so we wanted to go with something that would be user-friendly. I guess I should have listened to Jen long ago when she suggested "Pourciau Universe" as our blog title.

Along with the new name, we are also getting a blog-lift. Picture Joan Rivers, about 15 surgeries back. Our new title bar will feature a cartoon version of our family rather than the current picture of an almost-one-year-old Stella sitting on top of a streetcar. Watch for that change coming soon!

So, now that you know about all the changes that are going on around here, we would like to close by asking you to pray for our family as we welcome and adjust to these changes. We feel extremely blessed that God has trusted us with two wonderful girls and we're thankful that you care enough to support us on this fabulous adventure of parenthood. Thank goodness "that's the way it is."

I can't believe how tiny you are at 9 months pregnant!!! You look fab!
We just moved Audrey into her toddler bed the other night. She loves it...it is the same bed as her crib just sans the rail.
Anyway, tell me how you pronounce Cille...it sounds and looks beautiful!
